Welcome to Zen IV Spa. This Medical Disclaimer explains important information about our mobile IV therapy services. Please read it carefully before booking a session or using any information on our website at www.zenivspa.com. By using our website or receiving our services, you agree to the terms below.
This Medical Disclaimer works together with our Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, HIPAA Compliance Statement, and Provider Disclosure.
Website Content Is Not Medical Advice
The content on our website, including text, images, graphics, pricing, and blog posts, is provided for educational and informational purposes only. It is not medical advice. It should never replace a conversation with your own doctor or another qualified healthcare provider.
IV therapy is a wellness service. Our treatments are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Statements about vitamins, minerals, and other ingredients describe how these nutrients may support general wellness. Individual results vary from person to person.
Always talk with your physician before starting any new wellness treatment, especially if you have a medical condition, take prescription medications, or are pregnant or nursing.
We Are Not an Emergency Service
Zen IV Spa does not provide emergency medical care, and our services are not a substitute for emergency care. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room right away. Do not wait for a mobile IV appointment if you believe your symptoms are serious.
Signs that you may need emergency care instead of IV therapy include chest pain, trouble breathing, severe or sudden confusion, fainting, signs of stroke, severe allergic reactions, or any symptom that feels life threatening.
Who Can Receive Treatment
Eligibility and Medical Screening
Every Zen IV Spa client completes a medical intake form before treatment. A qualified medical provider reviews your health history, current medications, and allergies to confirm that IV therapy is appropriate for you. Our team follows hospital-grade safety standards at every step.
Our licensed Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners, working under the oversight of our licensed Medical Director, have the right to decline or modify treatment at any time if they believe it is not safe or appropriate for you. This decision is always made with your health as the top priority.
Treatment of Minors
Clients under 18 years of age may receive select treatments only with the written consent of a parent or legal guardian, who must be present during the entire session. Treatment for minors is reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis by our medical team.
Informed Consent
Before your first session, you will be asked to review and sign an informed consent form. This form explains the treatment you will receive, its potential benefits, and its possible risks. Signing the form confirms that you understand this information and agree to treatment. You may ask our nurse or medical team questions at any time before, during, or after your session.
Potential Risks of IV Therapy
IV therapy is generally well tolerated when administered by trained professionals. Like any procedure involving a needle, it does carry some risks. These may include:
- Minor bruising, soreness, or swelling at the insertion site
- A cooling sensation or mild discomfort during the infusion
- Lightheadedness or a temporary drop in blood pressure
- Inflammation of the vein (phlebitis)
- Infection at the insertion site (rare with proper sterile technique)
- Allergic reaction to an ingredient (rare; our team screens for known allergies and carries response protocols)
Our nurses use sterile, single-use equipment and follow hospital-grade protocols to keep these risks as low as possible. Tell your nurse right away if you feel unwell at any point during your session.
No Guarantee of Results
Everybody is different. How you respond to IV therapy depends on your health history, hydration level, lifestyle, and many other factors. While many clients report feeling refreshed after a session, we cannot promise any specific outcome. Treatments may help support hydration, energy, recovery, and immune support, but results are never guaranteed.
Post-Treatment Guidance
After your session, your nurse will give you simple aftercare instructions. In general, we recommend that you:
- Drink water throughout the rest of the day
- Keep the small bandage on for at least 30 minutes
- Avoid heavy lifting with the treated arm for a few hours
- Contact us if you notice redness, warmth, or swelling that gets worse at the insertion site
If you develop symptoms that concern you after a session, contact your physician. If symptoms feel severe, call 911.
Confidentiality
Your health information is private. We protect it under the standards described in our HIPAA Compliance Statement. We do not share your medical details with anyone outside your care team without your written consent, except where the law requires it.
