What Lactated Ringers and Normal Saline Are
Both are sterile IV fluids used in hospitals and IV therapy. Normal saline is a mix of salt water at the same salt level as your blood. Lactated ringers adds a few electrolytes like potassium and calcium, plus a buffer called lactate that helps balance pH. Most of our drips use LR for that extra electrolyte support.
